Bucks County Designer House and Gardens

Be part of the excitement and tour Peppermint Farm to see how an experienced team of design experts transformed this gracious 1860 farmhouse.
The Cause
Taking part in the 2019 Bucks County Designer House & Gardens Designer House, whether enjoying the opening weekend gala, learning something new at a wellness event or just relaxing in a beautiful setting with friends, helps Doylestown Health meet the needs of our community.
The annual event is the largest fundraiser held by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (VIA), a non-profit women's organization that founded and continues to participate in the governance of Doylestown Hospital.
The VIA held the first Bucks County Designer House at Wheelbarrow Hill in Holicong in 1971. This year's Designer House continues a tradition of community service by directing proceeds to benefit the local community. Over the years these proceeds helped fund the construction of Doylestown Health's new Emergency Department in 2010, provided $1 million for the renovations of the VIA Maternity Center in 2013, and provided scholarships and helped hundreds of families, women in post-secondary education programs and community-interest groups who were in need of financial and other assistance.
The 2019 Designer House proceeds will join with other philanthropic investments through the One Vision campaign to fund a wide range of transformative initiatives and priorities that include the capital construction projects currently underway. The phased renovations to existing structures and construction of new facilities will advance Doylestown Health's holistic model of care, improving the health of individuals and our community at every stage of life.
Peppermint Farm is located at 2613 Hilltown Pike in Perkasie, and house tours are available April 28 – May 26. Dozens of designers, landscapers, and artists have worked their magic on this 1860s farmhouse and gardens. Appropriately named for peppermint, the main crop that was grown on the property, this 30-acre farmstead includes a six-bedroom farmhouse, a two-car garage with a workshop, the base of a bank barn, a milk house, a studio, and storage shed. This farmhouse features unique built-ins, deep curved window sills, exposed beams, random width wood floors, stone floors, and two covered porches. Be sure to check out and shop at the boutiques set up on the grounds, and enjoy a light snack or lunch at the café, before or after the tour.
